The 2011 Toyota Tacoma is available in three different models – the regular cab, access cab and double cab. The regular cab is available in a 4x2 and 4x4 and comes standard with a 2.7-L DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine with VVT-I and a 5-speed manual transmission. The access cab is available in a 4x2, PreRunner/4x4 and a X-Runner and comes standard with a 2.7-L DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine with VVT-I and a 5-speed manual transmission. The double cab 4x2 and PreRunner, short bed, come standard with a 2.7-L DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine with VVT-I and a 4-speed Electronically Controlled automatic transmission with intelligence (ECT-i). The double cab 4x4, long and short bed, comes standard with a 4.0L DOHC 24-valve V6 engine with VVT-I and a 5-speed ECT-i – also available in 6-speed manual transmission.
