The 2011 Toyota Prius offers a little something for everyone, including the environment with an EPA estimated combined 50 mpg rating and a third-generation Hybrid Synergy Drive® system. The Prius is an Advanced Technology Partial Zero Emission Vehicle (AT-PZEV) and has an Electronically Controlled continuously Variable Transmission (ECVT). The gasoline engine is a 1.8-L Aluminum DOHC 16-Valve Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) while the electric motor is a permanent magnet AC synchronous motor.
