The 2011 Toyota Highlander comes in five different trim styles including Basic, SE, Limited, Hybrid and Hybrid Limited. The Basic and SE trim styles come standard with a 2.7-L DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder gasoline engine with Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i). The Highland Limited has a 3.5-L DOHC 24-valve V6 gasoline engine with Dual VVT-i. The Highlander Hybrid and Hybrid Limited have a 3.5-L DOHC 24-valve V6 hybrid engine with VVT-i. The hybrid models are Super Ultra Low Emissions Vehicles (SULEV) while the non-hybrid models are Ultra Low Emission Vehicles (ULEV-II). The hybrid models received an EPA-estimated 28 mpg for both city and highway.
